Get ready to hit the pavement—and the court—each summer when the Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament rolls into Midland, Michigan on August 7th-9th, 2026! Teams of all ages and skill levels will battle it out on the beautiful campus of Northwood University!
Each year, The Legacy Center hosts the Great Lakes Bay Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, drawing over 7,000 visitors each day from the Great Lakes Bay Region and around Michigan. With over 300 teams, our Gus Macker tournament is one of the largest in Michigan. Players aged six and up can play. More than 70% of players at this tournament are youth.
The event boosts the local economy and promotes physical activity and family togetherness. The Gus Macker staff create an upbeat and positive environment for kids to build Developmental Assets.
The Gus Macker Tournament is a major fundraiser for The Legacy Center. Sponsors help make the event possible and proceeds from the event support The Legacy Center’s literacy, youth development, and substance use prevention programs.

Heroes Tournament
Watch the competition heat up when our local heroes take the court! Local veterans, EMS, firefighters, and law enforcement officers will compete in our 2nd annual Heroes tournament. Come cheer them on and see their police cars and firetrucks while you’re at it!
